Welcome to Maverick's Square's Adaptive Cyclery Blog! Here, we hope to provide a window, of sorts, into our shop, and keep you up to date on what we're up to behind the blue door.
For those who don't know, Maverick's Adaptive Cyclery is a full-service bicycle repair shop. While we specialize in adaptive bicycles, we will service any make, model, or vintage of bicycle. We offer competitive labor rates and turnaround time, on top of our quality work.
Because our shop is a bit difficult to find, we offer free pickup and delivery to the surrounding area of Amherst, NH. Obviously, if you live beyond, say Manchester, Nashua, or Milford, we'll still pick up and deliver, but we'll need some money for gas, and it will likely have to be after hours.
What's with the name?
We chose the name "Maverick's Square," because we are, quite simply, mavericks. The word "Maverick" is defined as "an unbranded steer." The word has come to identify anything that strays from the mainstream. Having worked in mainstream professions and getting frustrated within them, we decided to split off and go rogue, doing our own thing.
As for the "Square" portion of our name, we associate the word in this sense to refer to a place where different ideas come together. You see it in plazas with many different businesses sharing the same location. Maverick's Square is a single space, housing an adaptive bicycle shop and a garment printing shop...for now...
To make a long explanation short, we are a place where slightly irregular people combine their resources to produce extraordinary things.
